step by step wedding plan

Hello again lovelies!

This week I have been taken by storm with work and am a bit late in delivering my post; but I have come up with something very valuable for you: the  step by step wedding plan!

Being  an extremely technical planner, I have structured my own Company wedding plan in a much easier-to-consult way compared to what I’ve seen out there.

So, on with the planning….

Advice: begin starting a Pinterest board to gather and keep together your ideas, then transfer all your tasks dead lines onto a proper planner, of the like of Dipity . It will be easier to control everything that spins around your wedding.

TWELVE MONTHS TO GO

1. Set up a budget

2. Consider hiring a wedding planner

3. Choose the day and book registrar and/or Church

4. Choose a venue and book it

5. The guests list

6. Find ideas for the menu

Check first  that registrar and/or Church officiant will be free the same day (!) and consider hiring a wedding planner!

It will save you time and will not break your bank; on the contrary, you’ll be running swiftly through the work and on budget!

Choose your venue sticking to your budget!

No need of castle if you cannot afford it: a venue can be worked out with nice decors.

Also, consider how far it’ll be from your important guests: can they all reach it easily, without having to get a loan to pay for the journey there?

ELEVEN MONTHS TO GO

Enough to finalize:

7. A theme for the reception

8. Discuss music for ceremony & reception

9. Appoint bridesmaids & ushers

10. Begin to look @ brochures for the honeymoon

11. Look for the photographer/videographer

Take inspiration from the season for the colors.

When thinking of music, think first: pianist, quartet of arcs, or a DJ/band?

Given you are appointing your Bday team, think of their gifts: simple and thoughtful will be fine!

As for the rest, seat down together once a week to make a point of the situation.

Wine (or beer), a nice meal (or take-away) for two and you should get in planning mode!

TEN MONTHS TO GO

12. Find a florist and discuss your ideas

13. Look for the cake (!)

14. Begin to discuss the floral arrangements for the church/venue, button holes, bouquets

15. Hire a calligrapher (highly suggested!)

16. Book musicians/DJ/band

For the cake keep in mind your color theme! Also, choose a filling that will meet easily the taste of almost everybody; to impress everyone you can always “up-do” the cake with flamboyant decorations!

Focus and spend time with florists and cake master and don’t forget your wedding transport will need flowers too!

Make questions, it’s important you’ll do this. Who will deliver cake and flowers? What about if they fall ill: will someone take care of the task? How they will travel to the reception venue? Any additional cost?

When it comes to the musicians, go to a gig or ask a demo. You definitely want to know what and how they’ll perform!

NINE MONTHS TO GO

17. If you need to rent anything for the ceremony/reception, contact  & arrange with rental companies

18. Research and order bridal party attire

19. Start planning honeymoon

20. Arrange tasting for your reception menu & book caterer

21. Shop for invitations and table plan cards

Out there are plenty of companies providing everything you might need for the reception.

Type on your browser “wedding furniture to rent” and in one minute you’ll have plenty of options popping up to your rescue! I like www.weddingfurniturehire.co.uk. Same applies for lighting and decor.

Do you want a calligrapher to address your cards and invitations? I highly recommend you hire one, or else you’ll have to practice a lot, using a fountain pen! Not what you are looking for, I guess!

For the bridal party attire I found Light in the box  to be an affordable and reliable company.

You can ask samples of the fabric and have a clear idea of what you are buying. They offer an incredible selections of sizes and colors too, which is great news.

Another important thing to do is taste the menu options: organize with your caterer and don’t taste only a few dishes, but all he proposes. You must have exact clue of what will go in those plates!
